Weekly Pool Service

The Westbank runs hot and humid nine months out of the year, so pools here need real weekly attention — not a chemical splash and a wave. Every visit is a complete service, on the same day, by the same technician who knows your equipment.

What's included

Surface skim and deep brush

Walls, steps, benches and waterline tile brushed to stop algae and calcium buildup.

Vacuum and basket cleanout

Floor vacuumed as needed, skimmer and pump baskets emptied, pressure checked.

Filter backwash or rinse

Sand and DE filters backwashed on schedule; cartridge filters rinsed and inspected.

Full water chemistry

Chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabilizer and salt tested and dosed. Chemicals included.

Equipment check

Pump, timer, heater and salt cell looked over each week so small issues never become big ones.

Photo report

A text with photos and your readings after every service, so you know exactly what was done.

Why weekly pool service matters more on the Westbank

Pools in Gretna, Marrero, Harvey and Terrytown sit in one of the most demanding pool climates in the country. Water temperatures push past 85 degrees from June through September, the humidity keeps evaporation and chemical loss unpredictable, and afternoon thunderstorms dump rainwater that drops your chlorine and alkalinity in a single hour. Add heavy tree cover from live oaks and crepe myrtles and the pollen load every spring, and a pool that looked perfect on Friday can be cloudy by Monday.

Bi-weekly service simply does not keep up here. Algae needs about 48 hours of low sanitizer to take hold, so a fourteen-day gap in July gives it two full windows to bloom. Weekly visits keep free chlorine in range, keep the filter from loading up with organics, and catch equipment problems while they are still cheap. Customers who switch from every-other-week to weekly almost always spend less over a season because they stop paying for shock treatments and recovery visits.

What a full weekly visit actually looks like

Your technician arrives on the same weekday, so you always know when to expect us. The visit starts with a walk of the deck and a look at the water — clarity, level, any staining at the waterline or debris on the floor tells us what the pool has been doing since last week. Then comes the physical work: skimming the surface, netting the bottom, brushing walls, steps, benches and tanning ledges, emptying the skimmer and pump baskets, and vacuuming as needed.

Only after the pool is physically clean do we test the water, because debris and organics change the readings. We run a full panel — free and total chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, and salt on chlorine-generator pools — and dose based on your pool's actual volume rather than a guess. Filter pressure is checked against your clean baseline and the filter is backwashed or rinsed on schedule, not on a hunch.

Before we leave, we do a quick pass on the equipment pad: pump sound and seal, timer or automation schedule, heater condition, salt cell output, and any wet spots in the plumbing that suggest a slow leak. You get a text with photos and your readings the same day, so there is never a question about whether the pool was serviced.

Chemicals, salt pools and what is included

Every chemical your pool needs during normal weekly service is included in the flat monthly rate: liquid chlorine, muriatic acid, sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, stabilizer, shock, algaecide, clarifier and salt top-offs. There is no surprise line item after a rainy week and no separate bill after a heat wave. The only things quoted separately are equipment parts, specialty treatments like phosphate removers on a badly neglected pool, and one-time recovery work.

Saltwater pools get extra attention because our water chemistry is hard on cells. We check output, inspect the cell for scale, and clean it when readings drift instead of waiting for the low-salt alarm. That habit is the difference between a cell that lasts five seasons and one that dies in three.

How it works

  1. 1. Free walkthrough

We look at the pool, the equipment pad and the surrounding trees, then quote a flat monthly rate with no guesswork.

  2. 2. First visit reset

The first service is a deep one — full brush, vacuum, filter clean and a corrected chemical baseline.

  3. 3. Same day every week

You get a set service day and the same technician, plus a photo report after every visit.

  4. 4. Season adjustments

We shift dosing, run times and filter cleanings as the seasons change, and flag repairs before they strand you.

Common questions

Do I pay extra for chemicals?
No. Chlorine, acid, shock, stabilizer, algaecide and salt are all included in your flat monthly rate.
Is there a contract?
No contract. Service is month to month and you can pause or cancel with a week's notice.
What if it rains on my service day?
We still come. Storm weeks are exactly when pools on the Westbank turn, so we do not skip visits.
